Ok, I've neglected to do this, and after two rather depressing posts after almost no posting in six months, people must be thinking I'm a big ball of depression.
Well, it's not true, really. I'm quite happy.
--Thanks to her knew Job, my lovely Jyuu now has credit! Apparently working for a better reputed company will do that! This in itself is wonderful!
Recently, my computer decided it was time to start shitting itself, and darling Jyuu used some of this wonderful credit to get a computer for me! Say hi to BEN! The new Sparky Beast!
Dell: Please name your computer
Me: Uh...Ok.. *types in BEN*
Dell: Some people like to give their computer a friendly description!
Me: Uh... Ok! *types in "X5-493".. whistles innocently* Welcome home BEN!
So, THANKS SOOOO MUCH to my lovely Jyuu for doing this for me. It is highly appreciated, and thanks to one of the following update-points, it will be paid off shortly.
Also, I have to give a big thanks to Cow for all the technical help, know-how and advice he's given recently. :D
--I FINALY HAVE A SCANNER AGAIN! It's an ancient thing, but it works well enough to serve the purpose, and it was a brande new, never opened product. Thank you Nextdoor Neighbor Neal! Even if you do bang on the walls to tell us to be quiet, and then come over physically to explain -why- you thought you needed to bang on the walls, you're not half bad!
As I was telling one of my friends about this scanner: Seriously.. I expect the crocodile hunter to come out of nowhere... "Would ya have a look at -this- beauty! Ya don't see em like -this- anymore! This 'ere is a 95 model "Flatbed" scannah~! Oooh e's a naughty one! It's -amazin- to find one in such -great- condition! And what's even -more- stunnin about this feller 'ere is that 'e -actually- seems to be -mostly- compatible with his newah surroundins! They weren' exactly -made- to be adaptable! CRIKEY!"
--In other news, I'm going to be going back to do Temp/Seasonal work for Holland America. I know I know! Terrible! But they asked -me- to come back. They're desperate. I can make up my own hours, go in on whatever days I please, and I only have to let them know a day in advance. I don't have sick time or vacation time because I don't -have- to be there at all.
What's extra strange about this is that I had a dream about, oh, maybe four months ago wherein my ex-boss Jim called to ask me to come back to work. At the time, I considered this a nightmare and chalked it up to the sudden lack of working there. I didn't think about it at all until I was playing the PS2 one night when Tiffany called me:
Tiff: You remember that dream you had about Jim calling you to come back to work?
Me: Vaguely, yeah. Why?
Tiff: Well, Jim is about to call you to ask you to come back to work. They're -that- desperate for people.
Me: WTF. LOL
Tiff: Yeah, I thought you'd get a kick out of that. I had to tell Jim about your dream.
We chatted a bit, hung up. About 20 minutes later, as promised:
Jim: Hi! This is Jim at Holland America!
me: I -know-! Tiff told me you were going to call.
Jim: Wow. She called you already? That was fast.
me: So, you want me to come back to work? She said she told you about the dream I had.
Jim: Yes, yes she did. So, what did you say when I asked in the dream?
me: I said yes, because I'm a big pushover.
Jim: Well, will you be a big pushover now, i wonder? Basically you'd come in at the old wage, 10.26 an hour, you would work whatever hours you wanted, and you'd only have to let us know the day before when and if you were coming in, and this could last through March, maybe later. Interested?
me: I'm interested, let me think it over.
Jim: All right! *gives number so I can call back*
Me: *waited a week, then sent him an e-mail asking when I could come in to get set up and discuss the job*
So yeah, I'm going back in. Hopefully this will give me and incentive to go out and find a -new- job.
I'm going to go work to make some moolah. This moolah will be used to pay off BEN so that Jyuu-love can get her own New Computer. The poor MAC seems to be on its last legs too now.
--Most of you still reading this realize I went home for a visit over the Christmas Holidays. Well, it mostly went well. My mother and I had a huge blow-out, but I guess that was expected. Other than that, I got to visit with my friends, my second family, my step-family and the pets I had to leave behind, like Kaos and my little birdies. All in all, it was a good visit. It made me realize that I -do- miss living in Charleston sometimes.
And that's pretty much it for major updates.
