This class will be structured differently from the English Lit course. There will be four main projects. None of them have any particular due-date, but all are expected to be completed before the end of term. If students wish to finish them ahead of time, there is nothing that says they can't.
PROJECT 1: Five-page research topic on a fictional topic that can relate to sci-fi, fantasy, or simply literary fiction.
PROJECT 2: Five-page research topic on a non-fiction aspect.
PROJECT 3: Using storyboard & posters as a tool and comic books as a resource, chart out the narrative of an effective plotline and create a thesis as to why it is emotionally satisfying from a storytelling standpoint. Pay close attention to the literary devices used to achieve this.
PROJECT 4: Fiction. Write a twenty-page short story that will be put together in a course-book that will be sent to be published by William de Worde. ONLY STUDENTS WHO PASS THE COURSE ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PUBLISHING.
