Carnivale

I love Carnivale. I want both seasons, but that costs $200, which I cannot spend right now. The good news is that Amy is going to get them for me through Netflix, so I get to watch all the episodes again soon. I'm excited.

I hate the Message. Has anyone read that version of the Bible? It is terrible. It's supposed to be in "today's language". Oh, it is so annoying, but that's what we're supposed to use for my Old Testament class, because Brisben thinks that we can't read the Bible how it was meant to be read with other versions because they have chapters and verses. Our reading this weekend has provided a wonderful example of why I hate it so much. Here is the first part of the book of Ruth in the Message:

"Once upon a time--it was back in the days when judges led Israel--there was a famine in the land."

If you want someone to take the Bible seriously and accept it as truth, you cannont start out any part of it with the phrase "Once upon a time". It will be interesting to see what Brisben has to say about that.

I think I'm going to go press the elephant's ear and listen to him make his elephant noise and blink colored lights at me. That can cheer anyone up. Thank you, Curtis.
