Ah Boston in the springtime. With the blossoms come the social activists. Invariably, they populate the length of Commonwealth and torment enrolled students (as well as prospectives) with their various convictions. I especially loved the one who got up in my face and yelled, "WE'RE NOT IMPOTENT PROTESTERS WE JUST WANT TO HAVE A DISCUSSION." I said, "Omg, are you homeless?" because he smelled like it and kept walking.
Chinatown is a jagged little pill. It is something dirty encapsulating something dirtier, and it makes me feel so deliciously college/city/foreign. On Friday, I went with da girlz to Apollo - this Korean BBQ place - in that part of the city for sushi/because they don't ID for beer. While there, there was a mugging that happened in front of the place, and it was largely terrifying. We sat wide-eyed and gossiping for about 5 minutes, and then our food came which was distracting. I relearned how to use chopsticks - as I must do everytime I use them - and consumed large quantities of rice as the ambulance pulled up, as the police arrived, and as the victim's girlfriend cradled his face. Then everything cleared up, and a group of laughing college students walked in, presumably for sushi/easy alcohol. Would they ever know that ten minutes ago some guy was beaten up in front of the place? No, they would not. Oh, the shit in life we hit or miss. That's how we do.
I've become a born-again hypocondriac. How inopportune. I have a chem test tomorrow that I haven't studied for at all. Literally, I haven't even read the chapters. Hahahahaha. Ah distraction! My muse and my demise.
True love waits, yeah?
