** looks like snow **

Am snowed in.

Well, not exactly, but seeing as I would be working late, return home at nearly midnight, and then have to shovel the buttload of snow that the skies are dumping on us... I don't relish the idea. Besides, there's traffic everywhere whenever there's a snowstorm because people turn into bumbling idiots and drive bumper to bumper and think that's a good idea. Last time there was a major snowstorm here I was stuck for two hours in traffic barely half an hour outside of my home.

I honestly love snowstorms, just not the people who make a mess of things whenever they happen upon us.

I wish my work would make it possible to work from home. Make no bones about it, I'd be one of the most productive if that were to happen. Give me a Macbook Pro, fully equipped with the Adobe Suite and Quark (ugh), and the Firefox extension for our production server, and RAWR, I'd be off!

With that said, I called the woman who's supposed to come in and dogsit while I work (and then sleep over) so hopefully she's going to check her messages and not come over tonight because I don't relish her company, to be quite honest. She my mum's friend's daughter who's 40 years old and honestly? She's a stranger to me. And treats me as her "housemate" when she's over and yet feels too awkward to eat our food when I specifically tell her that it's okay *facepalm* And I came in many times to a dark house because she didn't want to "snoop" to find the lightswitches *double facepalm* I mean what. If I had to dog/house-sit for somebody I'd damn well try to figure out where the lightswitches are.

Gah.

So anyhow, yes. I'll be here, shoveling. Because we're like the only ones on our street without a plowing contract (my front neighbours have a huge driveway shelter and they still have a plowing contract, IDGI), and I don't know how my dad's little snowplower works, much less want to attempt to work it while he's not there.

Hey, at least I know how to mow the lawn, okay. But a snowplower is a bit bigger and a bit more dangerous.

canada, weather, work
