excellent news all around!

Hopefully LJ doesn't eat this, because it's too awesome okay.

So remember how I said this is the week of win? Well. Let me tell you. It did not end there. Remember how I said this one guy in Petawawa and this one guy from Montreal answered me back on the same day I applied? Well. Yesterday I got a response to... I think I applied there last week iirc, and it's a contract job. More like freelance actually, since I'd be doing the odd coding (i.e. they already have the design) or complete web design job every once in a while. From what I understand.

In other news, I might be travelling with my mother in May, to celebrate the end of my studies. I know it sounds strange, travelling with my mother (especially considering we're at each other's throats every once in a while) but...  you know, in a way, I think it's good at the same time because I won't be totally stymied by "holy shit, I'm lost, heeeeelp". Last night we were talking about Spain (I want to see the Alhambra, which my Islamic Arts paper is about... and perhaps Cordoba or Seville) and that's another reason it makes sense for me to travel with her. She speaks Spanish (Catalan to be more precise) fluently, while I just understand the general gist of the conversation (I understand written Spanish much better), and significantly less when spoken rapidly. In fact, she and my dad have travelled to Spain, Mexico and Cuba in recent years and by speaking the language she was able to visit places most travellers don't or understand the local culture better. So yeah. Bringing her to Spain would be excellent :)

Also on our loose plans is France. Now, there, there is no problem. French is my mother tongue, yadda yadda yadda. Of course there's the possibility that my accent will make people curse me, lol. Or think that I'm English (I know someone who went to France, spoke Quebec French, and the guide replied in English. True story!) We'd go see Versailles (I studied a bit of the rococo period last week as part of my Baroque Art class -- for those who don't know, the rococo style is an offshoot of the baroque style; it took off primarily in France :) and my mum wanted to go see some of Normandy so perhaps Le Havre.

Then we talked about Scotland. I can tell she's not as stoked about that as I am, but she and dad did meet some people on a cruise recently who came from... Glasgow or Edinburgh, I don't recall... (dad: "I can't understand them!" lol) so she's a bit into that trip. There I could probably meet up with a certain someone I know from the land of El Jay ;) I'd love to see Culloden in the north, but that's probably out of the question for my mum... though she does love cold weather so that wouldn't be the problem for her. I just don't think she'd be as stoked about visiting an old battleground as I am. Perhaps if I got her into Outlander, but I don't see that happening any time soon ("too much to do, I don't have time to sit around and read all day"). Anyhow, but I'm sure Holyrood Palace and the National Gallery would be fun for her. No taverns for my maman either, haha.

Aaaand we also talked about England. I'm into London, of course, but I'm not sure I completely 100% WANT TO GO, you know? Oh, I know, I'll go to King's Cross and stalk people with animals or weird clothes ;P And haaaa I mentioned "ooh I know, let's go to Southampton, visit Beatles country" just to see my dad's face go "yay!" Now I know he'd love to go, lol.

So... nothing is finalised, we're still in the talking stage. Which actually just started last night, so please give me a break. Before that I wasn't even sure I wanted to go because... I didn't want to go alone. Yeah.

In other news... I have this weekend pretty much off. I need to buy some gold spray paint from Canadian Tire to finish a project, but otherwise my Art History papers (which are now both due Monday thanks to my awesome Islamic Arts teacher who took pity on some poor souls who went begging for an extension -- no that was not me, my essay was already typed and ready to print) are done and sooooo... I'm thinking about stretching my writing muscles! I just don't know where to focus! Faaaaail... lol

I love Alesse, btw. TMI, but I have never seen this little blood out of my vagina during my monthlies before ;) It's a revelation! No squishie and no paralysing fear of the ass stain. Woot!
