i'm dreaming of a white christmas

While Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, we Canadians... um... we already did it last month. Regardless, yesterday was my last day of school this week (my teacher for my two remaining classes of the week - and he's the same - declared both days studio days, to work on final projects), so I guess I'm an honourary celebratee? Or something. I broke out into Christmas songs yesterday and in the shower this morning. Weird, then, that I'm so blah right now. I did important work for school, though, so I'm not completely lazy. However, for the rest of the week, I will have

To do:
- finish Digital Nomad video
- finalise website for Project Studio class
- work on portfolio site
- finish Greek Art essay
- finish last Marketing assignment
- start studying for Marketing (because I've been horribly lax since about halfway through the semester... did the work but that's it)

About that Digital Nomad video... I can talk about this since it's not super-secret like the Project Studio thing :) It's been a really long time since I last acted for real (I was nine). And I was watching commercials recently and there's always these really bad ones from this Brand-something company that obviously picks up the first woman they can get on short notice, regardless of whether she can act or not. The latest one's better, but eeeesh you know? So anyway, I'm doing a sort of Christmas commercial for totally bogus kitchen items for self-proclaimed geeks (and of course I'm wearing my glasses :) Like... broken CD's = knives... external CD player = personal tea cup heater (the reading device spins, so it's a spinning heater lol)... and protective cartridge cases = shot glasses. I told my idea to my mum and she totally didn't get it, but whatever. It's quite fun actually. After Effects is as always giving me grief, but I'm about halfway through piecing all the vid files together. Should be fun in the end. It's like a serious parody. Also, it was difficult shooting it because Praline kept making noise in her cage and disrupting the whole thing, lol. Her whine is so cute btw.

The guys in my team project (Project Studio) had better give me good evaluation at the end, because I've been one of the most active members in the team. One guy never reads his emails, and the other two have just been doing the written stuff, while I've handled pretty much all the design stuff by myself. I coded the website in one night, and worked on the rest of the pages the next morning. I think that's pretty commendable, imo. So I'd better get a goddamn good evaluation from the three boys. I may be a quiet member but I'm a freaking fast worker and they know it.

I may write today, since I feel like it. Dunno what exactly, but I need to relax my brain. I refuse to go to judo because, tbh, I almost fell asleep in class (Greek Art) yesterday and HELLO I love this class. I've been feeling really tired for a few weeks but that was just the icing on the cake. Not to mention that last Wednesday at judo I felt pretty unstable from insomnia. So yes, I will write. Hmm, I think I feel like Sky High.

Oh, just as an aside. My dad's headed home right now and I'm proud to say that my mother and I only fought the night he went away. She was on one of her highs (I think she may be bipolar). I fucking ate fish everyday with her (hate fish) and I did grumble but she didn't flip out. I also ate cottage cheese which I do not like, made faces, and she didn't flip out. That is good. I have to wonder if she'll act differently once dad's home, though.

BTW, credit for this icon goes to sireesanwar :) Prettttty!
