this week in a nutshell!

Internet is very slow right now. Anyway.

Just dropped off my sister Jo at the airport. I had a shrimp pad thai there and I'm very full but yum!

So...

I was gone in Petawawa to see my sister Amy. Got there with Jo, who then left a couple days later because she was meeting up with some friends. While we were in Pet, though, my godson Zac would NOT sleep so while I was upstairs and did get decent nights' sleep, his parents and newborn brother were not happy campers :S I am not kidding, though, he DID NOT SLEEP. Would just stay up all night crying. So we all theorised:

1) Apparently his daddy dropped him on the head a few times recently, just before bedtime. We thought maybe bedtime now had him traumatised.

2) Apparently he somehow got locked into Brownie's (their dog) cage just before it dropped to the ground, again sometime recently. We thought maybe the bars around his crib reminded him of being caged in and he was claustrophobic or something.

We tried to leave him in his crib every nap time even though he cried to get out. We tried to go in and lie him back down every few minutes. We tried to leave him in all day so he could get SOME sleep. We tried to let him stay up all day, hoping he'd tire himself out at some point.

NOTHING WORKED. Whenever he'd get groggy and we'd take him downstairs to put him into bed, HE WOULD WAKE UP. I mean, automatically! So... the last day I was there, we put up his transition bed and tried him in. He would cry a little bit, but it wouldn't be the cry-and-fake-grunt thing he'd been doing all week. Good deal. He also didn't stand up; he just sat up. Good deal. And he tired himself out two hours later. YAY! And he slept all night thereafter. ALSO YAY!

So that's that. That's pretty much my whole week up there because honestly, yes I visited my sister and brother-in-law and new nephew, but that's all that was on our minds the whole time. I really hope things can now be smooth sailing with that new bed because geez, I love my godson but that's not the best side of him yet!

I also watched a lot of Cars (it's his favourite movie evah!) and I saw 17 Again (Amy's crazy in ♥ with Zeffron but I thought his haircut looked like something had shat on his hair; he's a good actor, though, I'll give him that) and just yesterday my brother-in-law made me watch the documentary Zeitgeist (freakin' awesome and it's all about unveiling religious and political conspiracies. A+). I also saw lots of kid tv and Supernanny is of course muah!

Byyyyy the way, I'm very proud of my Montrealers on So You Think You Can Dance. 5 out of the top 20 are Montrealers (Nicolas, Jayme Rae, Daniel, Kim, Vincent) and so far none of them have been voted off. Of course, it's just been two weeks, but I'm not that worried (except for Kim of the Emanuel/Kim pairing). Don't think I have a truly favourite couple yet but I do love Danny/Natalie; they started off the season with a bang and he was a really awesome surprise. Cody/Melanie are oh-so-cute. Daniel/Jayme are my lovely pair of Montrealers. Nicolas/Jenna are electric.

Anyway, that's all I think! I'll blog about several books tomorrow, lately. Done a LOT of reading recently :)

ETA: Oh btw, I had a dream two days ago that I was in Asia somewhere and trying to buy souvenirs/gifts for my family in some underground mall and then I ended up in this bus station in Europe (five minutes away!) somewhere where I had to stand on this really high cliffy wall-thing to wait in line for this gigantic bus. It was all very whacked-out crazy and I put a lot of people in danger because I'm a klutz and while I have very good balance on pointe shoes my flat-shoed balance is worth crap. Especially when combined with heights. Any ideas what's wrong with me what this could mean?
