POEMS: Naked, To be Us, Rattling Bones and Perspiration

Jun 01, 2009 11:34

I'll post this on ff.net tonight, but I'm manning the phone right now so I've got plenty of time to relax and I don't want to finish my book too fast so here goes me typing away. Three poems produced within the last few days. At work. I think I've got a blockage when it comes to writing fic lately, but poems just flow out at work. Go freakin' figure. They're all inspired by music. Can't remember which songs inspired the two first, but for sure Kings of Leon's "Closer" inspired the last one. Those guys write some of the most gorgeous lyrics I've ever heard/read :)

No summaries, but yes they're all about Chuck/Blair. They're all kind of pre- or during 2x25 :) And, without contest, I think my favourite is the last.

NAKED

There's a tightening up inside
It feels like a disease and it's
Lovely
Tearing up my mind
It feels so soft and light and I'm
Breathless.

I feel your eyes on me
They're glued to everything that makes me
Pretty like a princess.
There's something in your eyes
It's dark and hot down deep and I
Need it to feel alive.

There's a glow in you
I'm sure I've got one too and it's
I love you.

TO BE US

Why do you get scared by
Three little words?
They mean the world
Everything we are
Though they're merely unspoken
Because it's true
We're nothing without this game
(these are our words)
And yet I want them
To hold close
To be strong
To be me
(us)

I know you
You want us, too
It's getting too late
Can you really still wait?
I can't.

RATTLING BONES AND PERSPIRATION

Rattling bones and perspiration
Healed old wounds.
Every broken breath's brand new again
Took several takes that
Tore and mangled.
Fear twisted dreams into ghosts
Untouchable, far away.
Felt like forever since the last
Touch of dark beauty;
Smell of sweet, beautiful sin.
Thoughts burgeoned:
Unbidden,
Unwanted,
Unstoppable.

Rattling bones and perspiration
Wanted
Hated
Changing lives and configurations
Wrecking lies
Baring all.
