I went shopping today. I know, mark your calendars, because the next time might be in six months hehe. Anyway, I really needed some nice new tops for the cold season.
So. Today's shopping extravaganza with Amy:
- beige top with flowery edging and a sash (can't find a pic)
- 3/4 sleeve wrap
- book with the Hell's Kitchen host's favourite recipes for my brother-in-law who's crazy about the dude
- Trust Me by Brenda Novak.
Good book? No idea. I'm currently re-reading Iris Johansen's Pandora's Daughter. Great, but as I've said before, her style bothers me a lot.I'm quite tame when it comes to expenses :) My sister's really the one who spent more because she needed jeans. Speaking of, jeans are truly the bane of a girl's existence. Not joking here. Tops are hard to find because everything's made for skinny models, but much of what you'll find in the jeans section is low-cut and umm, hi, but a lot of us have actual butts. Like, meat on the cheeks, ya know? Tsk.
Oh. I've got a "new" radio. lol basically my parents bought Amy and I the same radio all those years ago, and the CD player in hers works. So we swapped :) I'm celebrating by listening to one at the moment. Wheeee!
I can't get over how nuts the American elections are/were. See, you guys elect everyone at once while we do federal, provincial and municipal ones separately, so there's less craziness at once. I am glad, though, that Obama won. He's got a lot on his plate, but I hope he can cope with all of it. I have faith :) And hahaha, as
glockgal said on her journal, it'll be fun to see Harper try to suck up to Obama. In what way? Who knows.
Anyway. Like the song says, I need to "get up and go" study and work a bit. Amy's visits have a tendency of making me lose my A-student-ness. But oh, before I post! My Art History teacher gave me back my final essay proposal with the following comments:
What a great thesis! [...] Excellent start and good questions introduced in thesis. The trajectory is focused; the only thing is that these are maybe too complex to adequately address in a course paper (indeed it's an excellent M.A. thesis topic, I think) so you may find you need to condense quite a bit of discussion if you intend to do all three artists. [...]
Now, what were you saying, Philosophy teacher from last year? I suck at writing? I can't focus my thesis? My organisation needs refining? I'm sorry, but if I keep getting excellent grades on my theses outside of your class and that I get the "it's an excellent M.A. thesis topic", maybe it's because you're talking out of your arse and you need to get out of your "listen to me you ignorant fools" phase. If they can see that I put a lot of thought and effort in what I write and you couldn't, then that was your problem, damn you.
Okay, done venting. Back to work now.
