montreal police wtf, exhibition, time-turner theory?

Dude, the Montreal Police are wearing camo pants now. That's sending a wrong message already, but to add insult to injury, it's not even standard Canadian camo (i.e. pixellated). Anyway, saw a couple of them hanging around at the Sherbrooke metro station, and to add a bit of weirdness to the whole getup, they're wearing a Flash-like logo on their vests which, well, for someone in the design field, feels all sorts of what.the.fuck. And all this, why? They say they're not getting paid enough *facepalm* Y'know, at least the STM strikers wore normal clothes in 2007. I really don't know what to think of the camo and Flash logo... we've entered a weird twilight zone, ladies and gents (as if Twilight's not weird enough? Come on, I had to say it!)

Also, veni, vidi, vici. That is, I went, I saw, and well, I didn't conquer, but rather I experienced the Oboro exhibition. All about interactive pieces, like a disco boombox whose sound would amplify according to how loud we were; a "game" where you called a number and blew into your phone to blow a bubble; a room where you sat in a chair and "navigated" to find sounds; etc. Quite fun. The piece that got the most play time was basically a ball whose coordinates were translated to a giant screen. Simple, but so so fun. One of the creators filmed me interacting with the "game" so er, I might be part of a presentation video of some sort. Also, I suspect the game was created using Processing. Ick ew *heaves* Gosh I hate that program.

So yeah, that was my class today. It lasted all of one hour ;P although the four hours' total travel time is not so FTW. I seriously debated not going because I knew that the visit wouldn't last very long, but then... the teacher takes attendance.

Speaking of, I dunno if it's only here or elsewhere as well, but the teachers all take attendance nowadays. My sisters both assured me they never had the kid treatment, so maybe it's an English concept (they both went to French colleges/universities). My dad didn't step into a classroom in his last year at Ottawa (Law) because he studied in the library during class hours. I mean *flails* are we in kindergarten? This boggles the mind.

Oh, hey, did anyone else know the Beijing Olympics aren't over? Check out the Paralympics, it's quite inspiring :)

Right. Supper and then... one of those things that still need to be done. Eenie-meenie-mynie-mo...

P.S. Neck, please crack. You're giving me a headache because of your non-crackiness.
