Hi all!

Well this weekend was rather eventful. As in, like, last evening was probably the whole of it because I spent most of my weekend on youtube watching videos (explanation below) aha.

Umm. Last night was the annual Île-Perrot Volunteers Night (Île-Perrot is about five minutes away from my college. So, roughly, about thirty minutes away from my home by car). I know the man who runs Perrot Shima Dojo; he and his wife are good friends of my mother and, in turn, of my family. They used to go to my dojo before Rick started his own dojo. Also his son Sean is a first year student in my programme. yay for coincidences. I had no clue he was an artistic dude ;P

Anyway, I dressed up last night expecting nothing really. Plus I've been down lately because of this thing called school stress (by the way I finished that car project and the presentation booklet is carved and all and looks fab :D). So, whatever. I arrived there expecting to meet the usual Perrot Shima people and seeing my dad keep his notorious title of "Twinkletoes" (long story).

Let's just say I met this guy (I'll call him E. for the sake of privacy) who was refeering at the judo competition I volunteered at about six months ago. And... it's rather cheesy (and stupid) but every year the host has this competition about which table goes next to the buffet table. This year, they had this running theme about it being a "couples" night. My dad was voted "chief" of our table, and the table chiefs had to decide which couple would go on the dance floor to "compete" for food. Naturally I expected dad to choose himself and mum (hello? Wonderful and exquisite ballroom dancers?), but, uh, he chose me and E to compete for our right to eat. Now, E. told me right away he hated dancing. So I didn't try to be too pushy.

Anyway, we kicked it off really well. I expected him to want to stop at the second song, but he didn't and so we didn't :) For about the whole time that the food "competition" was on, we were on the dance floor (about an hour). Then we finally got sick of the host, who never chose us even though we sucked up to him (a LOT). Anyway, we headed back to our table, and then his mum said the sweetest thing: "I've never seen him even WANT to dance". And, it's true. E. dragged me back on the dance floor every time, not the other way around. I even had to turn down one of his offers because I was drained!

We did bond a lot, but I'm a little worried because he seemed to like me a lot, yet the first thing he told me when I met him at the beginning of the night was that he had a girlfriend. Plus, I felt a little awkward because he's about seventeen (I'm nineteen) and I usually like my men in their early twenties because of the maturity level.

Anyway, so that wraps up my night pretty well. I won a DVD/VHS set that E. was dead set on getting for me (!) even though I was already getting up to claim my prize. We danced a lot of slows and he did not want to dance with anybody else which, uh, also adds to the awkwardness on my part because hehasagirlfriend!

In other news, I have just gotten hooked on Degrassi TNG. Yeah, yeah, I hear your cries of "omg NOOOO!" and, honestly, I could NOT care less because one hotboy is moving.back.into.town! *fans self* I speak of the Great Sean Cameron, who looks great by the way.

Now, remember, I grew up loving Zac Handsome... I mean Hanson! *g* Actually I grew up loving Hanson's music, and it was Amy who insisted that Zac and I were meant to be (sure, Amy) because we were both the same age and because she was meant to be with Taylor so it was only natural that I should be with Zac (don't ask). Or something like that. For about a year I brushed her off because I was like ten and, umm, isn't that a little young to notice boys? Yeah, thought so. Anyway. So in 1998 I started to listen to Amy's old CD's and I stumbled upon Middle of Nowhere, and the rest is history.

So, as I was saying, I grew up liking Zac Hanson's chubby face growing into that of a man. It wasn't until Underneath (2004?) that Zac chopped off his long drummer hair. Taylor and Isaac had already chopped theirs for This Time Around (2000?), so by the time I turned from boy-friendly to boy-aware I had Zac's face branded into my brain as being "sexy". Every one of my earlier crushes had a similar build, at least, and that was that for me. But Daniel Clark (Sean Cameron on Degrassi) is going way beyond any of that, and I'm happy, because not many men will go for long hair happily and without the usual "but I look like a girl" drama. In my opinion, a man who can pull off long hair and still manly and sexy as hell is number one in my book.

Yeah, I know. It's kind of weird to have a semi-obssession with long haired boys. Trust me, I've seen worse. But Daniel kind of reminds me of Zac in that totally "ooh hot" kind of way haha.

I also squeed when I saw a Degrassi Mini (Americans get all the Minis fun, wtf!? Me wants!) in which Jay goes all "Sorry". Because the way he says it is so Canadian: "Sore-ie". :DDD There were a lot of other quirky moments like that (hehe those Alex and Ellie-but-really-Emma tatoos (sp?) but that one mostly really got to me.

Yes, I realise I am becoming obssessed after what, six seasons of Degrassi? I was never hooked but I recently realised exactly what I had missed (aww Spinner/Paige, Sean/Emma, etc). So sue me for this teensy teen-ish moment but, yeah, I'm technically still in my teens, though I should behave a little more like an adult. (But I still like Spinner and Sean so leave me alone you lot of grownups!)

I think Amy was obssessed with the original Degrassis. I think she still likes them, and she's 22. So whatever, I guess I'm following family tradition or something. Yeah, or something, probably.

I also saw the new Loreena McKennitt commercial on the telly. My goodness, does she always get better with every CD? I swear I was entranced by her beautiful voice. I strongly recommend her new CD. I downloaded all her mini audio clips on a whim on Friday because of this commercial.

Is it me or am I becoming easily addicted to seemingly worthless things?

Oh, also. Hi! Sore-ie for not posting lately. I've been busy. As you can see. *sheepish smile* But, honestly, I did work my butt off on design thingoes.
