Houston, We Have Floor

May 30, 2005 21:07

The Pergo is in, and the remainders returned to the Dreaded Store of Hell. The tile was done last week. moth_001 began the baseboard while I played with (modern-day) fire. The wiring in the house is WEIRD, but the outlets seem to be normal. Thus far. We put in the first kitchen light together, a three-drop array over the sink with frosted glass shades. And together, we fight crime.

I sprained my ankle when I mistook a pallet for solid flooring, but otherwise, the weekend passed in a flurry of activity, wine, and even some people dropping by from Chicago-area. The house looks damn good, thanks to an army of friends, and soon-to-be friends. I think. I hope. I don't think too much, since I tend to pass out roughly five to thirty-five minutes after sitting down. Not exactly a great window of opportunity, if you know what I mean. (And I tell him to post the funny thing he said, partially because I'm too tired to recall what it was. Besides, it would be funnier, coming from him.)

If any of you guys run across The Venture Brothers, think of me laughing on the couch after a long day of house renovations. I love this oh-so-very adult cartoon.
