hey everyone.

Hey guys.

How y'all doing? I haven't been around LJ much lately because I don't have a lot of free time these days, and when I do I like to spend it hanging out with Celeste watching TV or going out or something, rather than sitting around on the computer writing LJ posts.

Lately I have been spending almost all of my time playing Persona 3. I....I love that game so much. I'm almost to the end, which is also good, because seriously I need to do something else with my time. I haven't done a lot of painting lately, but this is the busy time of year at work, so it's to be expected. I'm so exhausted when I get home that I just don't feel like doing anything most days. I swear, if this keeps up much longer I'm just going to burn out. It doesn't help that I live in the middle of fucking nowhere so no one comes to visit ever. Last weekend we were supposed to play D&D but everyone canceled at the last minute. This has been happening more and more frequently. I think we're down to just three people who regularly attend. I suspected this would start happening once Harris left for Guatemala, he was the mutual friend who was holding the rest of us together. It's sort of like how some siblings stop talking to each other after their parents die.

I've been tagged for this happiness Meme, so I suppose I'd better do it.

Life hasn't been all gloom, of course, today after work I took the train home to Franklin and watched "The Snowman," my favorite Christmas movie ever. I don't know why, I've just always loved it. Drank some egg nogg and hung out with my mom. It was a pretty nice evening, truth be told.

In the end, I think it's the small comforts that are what really keep us going. Those little, trivial excesses that we allow ourselves. Would life be worth living if I couldn't get a hot ham and cheese croissant at the train station every weekday morning for two dollars? Maybe not.
