Introspection?
I see that many people have been having philosophical breakthroughs in their livejournals lately.
Unfortunately, ever since I found a job and could stop driving to Boston every few days for interviews my inner slacker (an attractive black haired dude who looks kind of like me and who I would definitely sleep with) has been totally in control of my behavior, and my thoughts, so all I really have to say on life is "well at least the weather is warmer."
And Battlestar Galactica is an awesome TV show.
Honestly, I think I'm just tired of thinking so much about things. The world is in such a fucked up state that I can't think about it without wanting to do insane, extreme things that there would be no stepping back from.
Did you know there is an entire family of whales we know almost nothing about, who may be going extinct because the navy uses a certain type of sonar? It's that kind of thing that I'm talking about. There is just SO much fucking stupid shit going down, it's like an overload whenever I think about any of it.
Seriously, we suck. Here we all are, with our stupid pet issues, unable to ever agree on what we need to work on first. Should we try to do something about all the human rights violations occurring overseas? Should we try to educate the lost youth of America's cities? End the war? Fight terrorism? Try to achieve racial equality? Sexual equality? Find a solution to immigration difficulties?
Actually, you know what? By continuing to grossly misuse our natural resources and continuing to ignore the destruction of the environment, we will eventually fix all those problems I mentioned before. Humans won't be able to ever mistreat each other again, once we're all dead.
(Yes, I AM an environmentalist. Feel free to tell me that it's stupid to care more about animals than about humans, I actually agree with you. But don't forget, we're animals too. If the current state of the world is messed up, we won't be able to live freely anymore. There's evidence that the atmosphere of the earth in the days dinosaurs wandered around would be TOXIC to many modern animals and plants.)
