Wow I'm Lazy

So a lot has happened since my previous post in October. Things are still wonderful between Coy and myself. Who would've thought that 6 months ago we'd be together? Things have been crazy though between the holidays and work.

Christmas Eve, a group of us went out to dinner at Red Lobster for the usual Christmas Eve dinner. Christmas Day, Coy and I had to work, but he worked that morning and me that night, so we went to his coworker's house for dinner. We also exchanged 1 present each. Coy got boxers, and I got an absolutely beautiful butterfly necklace with a stone in each wing.

December 30th, I started my vacation so I got things ready for the next few days. On the 31st, Coy and I got a few hours of sleep (less than 4 hours) before we drove to his sister's house on the north side of town. We celebrated Christmas with Coy's family. We had gumbo for dinner and lots of stuff for dessert. The youngest kids opened their presents first, then we worked our way to the oldest. I got an LSU t-shirt, PSU fleece shirt, PSU ornament, toe socks, candle, candies, cajun cookbooks, etc. Coy's second present from me was a nice, soft bathrobe.

After being with the family a few hours, we drove to Lake Charles to spend the night with his friend Drew. We bought ~$300 worth of fireworks (it's legal in Louisiana). We spent a few hours setting off the stuff before calling it a night. Sadly, Drew's dog passed away because he was 13 years old and sick since August. Coy and I stayed awake until almost 4am to make sure Drew would be alright.

The next morning, we drove back to Houston, packed our bags, cleaned my apartment, and went to Bush airport to fly to Pittsburgh, PA. Needless to say, my family likes Coy and he got to see snow. Oh my was it cold! The low temperature the following night was 13 degrees with a wind chill of 9. It didn't get above 30 until Friday. We saw a few museums, had drinks at Sing Sing, dinner at Mount Washington with my sister and her boyfriend, went to the Strip for a Primanti's sandwich, and who knows where else we went. It was just constant motion until the evening, then we came back to the house for a nap before dinner. It stinks we're back in Houston, but there will be plenty of more trips to come this year - Mardi Gras, San Antonio for Coy's brother's wedding, Survival 2008, and much more.
