my crazy life
Yep, I'm not dead, I promise. ;)
Between work and moving into the new place, I've been pretty busy. We have a couple of new students, so now we're up to six kids and seven aides. Fortunately, we have an eighth aide going through training now. We are expected to have a full ten for the summer session. Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day for this school year. Then I have two days ABA training- Friday and Saturday. After that, I'll be out of work until July 9th, and again after August 3rd until August 27th.
I think we've been thinking of Disneyland in August, or over one of the breaks in either November or December. It will depend on finances and Boo's schedule once classes start up for her again at San Jose State.
We are almost all settled in to the new place now. All the big stuff is moved in and organized. Now there's just a few smaller things at my house, and a couple boxes at hers. And some stuff I have in storage that needs to be gone through, but that's not as critical at this point. Once we get everything cleaned up a little more and where we want it, we'll have a housewarming party. ^_^
We have new fish again. The 30 gallon is up and running, with a couple of adult cichlids, a large catfish, a young bichir, a small silver dollar, and a couple of medium tinfoil barbs. We had a mono too, but he seems to have disappeared. But we want to get another tank up and running anyway, so we will probably rebuy him soon. The mono does really well with the scat we have who is currently visiting in Boo's 10 gallon with the tetras and Alpha Betta. So that will probably be it's own tank at some point. The waterdogs are doing wonderfully, and the rest of us are happy that they have a filter. They might like murky water, but we enjoy it much better when it isn't smelly! LOL
Sham has been upgraded to a 20 gallon tank as well. She is happy to finally be in a place that's warm, and she has more space than ever to run around now that she's growing. She is so much fun to watch in the evening when she starts running like she's in Nascar chasing invisible crickets up and down and back and forth all over the tank. ROTFL
I have a laptop now, and we have wireless at the apartment. I am enjoying it muchly! Now if only the weather would cool down a little! Probably doesn't help that I just made a couple of cherry pies from scratch, so the oven's been on most of the evening. But there's a cherry stand right down the street, and we couldn't eat THAT many cherries! So we thought pie would be nice.
Boo has started her summer work up at Big Basin now, too. Which means now that we've finished moving in here, she had to pack up secondary stuff and move in up there. :( She's living up there Monday through Friday, and comes home on the weekends. It's a little hard, but we'll live. It would just cost too much in gas for the commute to drive that far five days a week.
Speaking of money, I finally got paid at work. Unfortunately, there were too many bills that stacked up, plus getting food for the house and gas for the car and such. So I'm somewhere around $200 in the negative. I just hope the next check will cover everything, and hope I can find temporary work to cover the parts of June through August that I'm not working. *crosses fingers* Anyone know of anything?
Anyhoo... This was supposed to be a short update to say hey I'm still alive and all that. :p So I'd better look at getting to bed soon. I have to be up early for work, even if it is going to be a short day. Today was a long one, and I'm tired.
