The blizzard of 2007 has come and (mostly) gone. I'm glad to say that I have survived. It started off with several inches of snow Tuesday morning. I tried to get my car out of the parking lot, but that didn't work out so well. I ended up having to walk to work, which wasn't awful, but I wasn't too thrilled about it. By mid-morning, Purdue had done the unthinkable and decided to close. So I got to go home and noon and by 5, there was a good foot of snow, with higher drifts. Holly and Kristin came downstairs and sledded with Angie and me. They we had a snowball fight. Woohoo!
This morning, at the request of county officials, Purdue extended the snow recess until tomorrow morning. Hooray! By late afternoon, I realized that our lot was the only PRF lot around that hadn't been plowed. I held out as long as I could, but I finally realized they were abandoning us. I thought I had a snow shovel -- I could SWEAR I have a snow shovel -- guess not. I ended up trying to use my sled to shovel the snow out. An hour and a half later, I had enough moved that Angie's car could back up, but not enough for anyone to get out of the lot.
I'm supposed to go to home this weekend for Jennifer's 21st birthday. I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. I think the roads will be good enough, but if I can't get my car out, the point is rather moot.
Anywho, get your blizzard on here:
