Sticky!!!
I am, in Dr. Seussian-fashion, stuck to myself, the counters, a spoon, the cats, the ingredients, and my pots in a sad (but delicious!) fashion. (Hmm...also the keyboard, now. That's going to be fun to clean.)
I have just discovered that Rice Krispies Treats are deceptively simple to make -- "deceptively" being the keyword, there. Seriously, I'm not an experienced cook by any definition, but I made lasagna from scratch with less difficulty than this.
(I was amazed when visiting a grocery store to purchase the makings with Jenmur: "What?" sayeth I, "Only three ingredients?? How doth some confection which hath so influenced our poor civilization be of only three ingredients in its making?" "Yea," quoth she, "Only three." "But lo! So simple!" sayeth I...in my ignorance.)
So, anyway, something which has been advertised to the past several generations of American culture as a basic staple of homemade comfort food is not, in fact, so easy to make. I would recommend pre-acquaintancing oneself with a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Bartholomew And The Ooblek" and having lots and lots of spare butter. Don't put it in the mix; keep it on the counter to help yourself get unstuck.
