photography, math, etc etc

Tomorrow I am going to be a pseudoprofessional photographer. Ok, not even that, really, but I was asked to take pictures at an event for my mom's friend, who is an enormous photography fanatic. He sold my my current camera, which is a lovely Leica point-and-shoot named Lucy. I'm not really sure why he's asking me in particular to do this, because I don't think he's seen any pictures I've taken, and I'll admit I'm pretty mediocre.

So, I'm kind of nervous, even though it isn't really a big deal at all. Hopefully it'll be good, I just finished reading through a digital photography book he (my mom's friend) lent me, so I've kind of refreshed my memory on good technique, so... we'll see how it goes.

In other news, I did not totally fail my SAT subject tests. Managed an 800 in Math II (which is some kind of miracle, I didn't even get to answer the last three questions), still only got a 730 in chem, second time taking it... but oh well. It is good enough for now.
I am also making a squid hat. I worked on it today and it is coming along nicely. Perhaps not quite as good as the real guy's, but I think it'll be good nonetheless.
