I was going to do the standard year end top 5s but my interests have been so erratic that it seemed more sensible to just lump everything together. I'd like to state for the record that I really did try to make this look less ugly but this new LJ formatting just isn't playing fair! WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY.

oh, TVD. WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL. ;__;

I love these lists. I love to see what everyone else loved this year! You, as always, have flawless taste.

If someone had told me this time last year the way that TVD was going to play out I would have been soooooo bitter as it is I'm pretty apathetic. I just don't care all that much any more - I haven't seen the last few eps and can't bring myself to get excited about it returning. ~WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE S1~

Ooh, I love this list! Especially that picspam from "The Letter," YOU ARE THE WORST/BEST FOR INCLUDING THAT. Forever and ever, ~never gonna give u up~.

REBECCA FERGUSON! Every time I see her name, I say it, "Rebeccccca Fergusssooooooon," like the X Factor announcer. How is that album? I still can't get over cover of Duffy's "Distant Dreamer," (her finale song on the show), but I can't find an MP3 for that anywhere. I don't really think her music is my usual style, but I think she's so lovely and beautiful and, just, HEARTS FOR HER!

NEVER OVER CARTER/ABBY ~MY FIRST LOVES~

I was so in love with Rebecca's version of 'Wicked Game'! Her album is hardly groundbreaking but her voice is lovely and it has a soul/80s diva vibe that make's it excellent walking-to-uni music!

ah I love everything you listed here, especially the music choices! AND CARTER/ABBY! I was obsessed with them in my early/mid teens! I made two fanvids for them before youtube existed, hahaha I bet they're awful.

I honestly stopped watching when it all went to hell for them. I mean, not really in a "DAMN THEY RUINED MY SHIP" kind of way, but I guess after it ended I realized I was only actually watching for them. I stuck around a little while longer for Abby but....

I was SOOOOOOO in love with Carter/Abby when I was about 13 - the Carter/Abby message board was my introduction for fandom and it was through my friends there that I was introduced to LJ. The first ep I ever saw was 'Lockdown' so the only season I watched live was S9 which pretty much killed off most of my enthusiasm! I only acknowledge S1-8 as canon!

OH BUT YOU MUST TALK ABOUT DH PART 2!!!!
At some point...at any rate. Are you predominantly a fan of the films or the books?

You have magnificent interests. Well, all your interests that I recognise are magnificent. I haven't seen 'Tree of Life' (heard great things about it but was then turned off it by the trailer, went to see 'Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows' instead, like a true intellectual). I don't know what 'Strictly Gershwin' is either. There are so many things I just don't know ahaha... :O

OMG TVD! :'(
YOU WERE SO RIGHT. It took me a few more episodes to see what you had seen by 3X02 but TVD atm is just ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. What a fail. What has happened to the main trio? WHAT? Ehhhhhh. Nevermind.

Haven't seen 'Source Code' either but movie taste is A+++++++ :D

I think part of it is that the whole HP fandom was so consumed with ~feelings in the summer (I talked about DHii/HP extensively when it came out - here and here!) and although parts of that were delightful, the constant debates and discussions can be exhausting and I came out of it feeling a little battered. As much as I enjoy sharing and participating in fandom, there's a part of me that just wants to cling to my own experience/canon etc., to internalise it ( ... )
