(no subject)
I made it to the north in one piece. The house is fine though I’m going to have to splash out a whole £10 to get a bookshelf from Ikea because all my textbooks are piled up in my desk which is making for bad studying feng shui! Term hasn’t started yet but I’ve spent the week on newspaper databases trying to do some preliminary research for my DPhil application. Current title: ‘Presenting female physicality: Media coverage of women’s sport in inter-war Britain’. I’m really REALLY hoping that my favourite tutor from my undergrad will be willing to supervise me so I’m going to email him with my ideas tomorrow and see what he makes of them. TERRIFYING.
Speaking of terrifying, I was cowering behind a cushion the whole way through this week’s Downton Abbey!
It’s not as if it’s beyond this show’s melodrama to have Branson kill a British ~war hero! Obviously ecstatic that he didn’t! I am more than aware that my investment in Branson is ridiculous given how tiny his role actually is but whatever! SOCIALISTS WITH NICE ACCENTS FTW! Sorry that Russian socialists are going to disappoint you sir. BUT LET’S LOOK AT YOUR FACE
As per usual Matthew and Mary are glorious human beings with faces. ALL THE FEELINGS!
I have a horrible feeling that all the Sybil/Branson in next week’s promo is a misdirect but if not then this week’s ep has the potential to be EVERYTHING I HAVE WANTED FOR THIS SEASON! Fairly positive that William isn’t going to make it home though maybe we should start taking bets on what life altering injury Matthew is going to sustain!
I don’t tend to do fanmix memes because I have a habit of really overthinking them and getting really picky about lyric/tone combinations but I pulled this one together really quickly though that’s probably because Ron/Hermione are my OTP4LYFE!!!11!1 and I think about them A LOT. I’d never got so far as planning a fanmix for them but the ~feeling/tone I associate with them is really clear in my mind. They are definitely autumn tones (burnt oranges and reds) - Gryffindor colours but more earthy than Harry’s bright gold, more easily blended and matching the colour of their hair…
