Internet access at home, finally!
Washington is treating me well thus far. We have this great place down the street called Taco Del Mar... which is basically like Chipotle only 10 times better. How can anything be better than Chipotle, you ask? Go eat at Taco Del Mar. I'm addicted to it already.
People here are familiar with the term 'vegan' and it seems everywhere has vegan food on their menu. I was at this Chinese place the other day and asked the lady at the counter if their rice had eggs in it, and she immediately responded with "oh, are you vegan?" I just stood there dumbfounded for a second. No one in Dallas would ever think to ask that.
The new store is pretty cool, I'm getting used to working drive thru a little better. The people I work with all seem pretty cool, but I can't say I've gotten to know many of them too well yet.
My cats love the balcony. I swear Coda is going to fall off the railing one of these days.
And now its time for meet the neighbors...
One of our neighbors is a really cool old guy who is a big Kerry campaigner. He gave us some Washington voter registration forms. He seems to be highly envolved with local politics, and loves to talk about politics. Very cool guy.
And then there is the pyscho crazy lady next door. She frightens us and we hide from her at all costs. We met her the day we were moving in and she introduces herself as follows: "Oh, I live next door. We just moved in... well, I say we, he died. But yea, we just moved in within a couple days of you." Not an ounce of sadness or hint of emotion in the statement. Just and extremely casual, everyday kind of tone. If that statement and the tone of her voice weren't freaky enough, anyone I have ever seen go into her apartment, I never see come out. That lady scares me.
I have yet to talk to guitarist dude, I haven't heard him play in a couple nights. I've been too sucked into my book. Oh well.
Anyways, time for me to go read a bit. End post.
