Silly backstory: I think in this one Vulcans and Humans have divergently evolved a bit too far, with the consequence that they can't breathe freely on the other's planet. Which means NO KISSING*, oh the angst. I'm cackling. Kirk is saying something like, "Stay with me and I'll make you my sexy space princess."
