... but if you carry the nine on, the impostor fraction is left... no, no that can't be right.

[Out in the fourth floor corridor, the wall beside the door to room 414 is covered in equations, huge bursts of science and maths scrawled in the kind of handwriting you'd expect from a university professor. In little secluded spots along other parts of the walls all the way down to the stairwell are smaller chunks of this babble, even a bit of poetry here and there, rhyming but making very little sense.

It's all in black marker - probably permanent - and at the moment he's crouching somewhere around the power-socket between 414 and 415 like a frog, finishing off something. Suddenly he bounds up, side-steps back to the main body of the writing, and resumes a separate equation. Or maybe it's all part of one big thing?

He's speaking constantly too; muttering to himself, tugging at his hair nervously, reaching up every now and then as though to push glasses up his nose, not feeling them there and spending a moment or so in a confused silence before resuming.]

We're getting there. No. Shut up. I'm working on it. [He spends a few moments wracking his brains, literally tapping his temples with his fingertips.] The nine wasn't agreeing in that one so it looks like the-... but if M is equal to or greater than the solution to X over four point five six five eight... proficiency has to be above 38% for the mutation to stay under acceptable levels...

(ooc: Ahaha, a bit tl;dr. Cloud is a Fred Burkle mad scientist, lawl. Btw, Shiki, he's only n the hallway because he ran out of wall space int he apartment. Enjoy your interior decorating.)

cloud's intelligence has raised by 5!, it was this or a serial killer, can't talk writing, past lives event
