Novus Considero: Rangers

The idea of rebuilding the core D20 ranger is something that's really been gnawing on me for quite a while, since Gabby has been re-writing paladins - I thought 'what the heck' and decided to impliment my changes, these are things I've always wanted to see a ranger have/do and have never really been in a position to alter things.

But if nothing changes it remains stagnant and then becomes like a mill pond.

So with that in mind NC: Rangers - Tracks in the Wild is being written. I actually managed to get a good head of steam on the project, hitting about 20 odd pages in only a few days. I would say about 4-5 after I did some research and so forth about the various kinds of things I wanted to know.

I plan for it to be a companion book in the new series and as Gabby says we're working towards a setting. Out there some of the die-hard RPers may scoff and think we know naught about it. But I've been roleplaying for 25 or so years, if that doesn't make me experienced then I don't know what does.

Having sold a few books (books that I've written) in my time as well - I hope this one will be as well recieved as some of the others.

The challenge has been making something new without totally destroying the good parts about the core D20 ranger. I think in the end in this respect I have now reached a class that I'm happy with, I have to do the whole class table thing and a few more tidy-ups but on the whole it seems to work.

I may get Hellion to road-test one to see how they play just as a core character yet.

More to come - sooner than you think.
