As I try to work up the webpages for the latest venture, I'm becoming convinced that CSS is the actualized wet dream of an object oriented bigot.
Seriously, they take something as damn useful as HTML and then slap a formatting method that is nothing like the markup that it accompanies? That no-one can seem to agree on a documentation method that doesn't involve the computer science equivalent of metagaming. On top of this, the utter wankery of the W3C corporate contributors (I'm looking at *you*, Microsoft) corrupting it even further.
The syntax sucks. The inheritance methodology sucks even harder. And there's NO other way to tweak a design other than nested tables. And nested tables are evil.
I'm late to the party, I know, but CSS is one of the reasons I have actively stayed away from web design for the past five or so years. But I've had this little rant inside for a long time, and I just needed to get it out.
Yes, I'm frustrated. And I'm sure as hell not buying a copy of Dreamweaver.
