Parasha: Astro City, June 18th reading
Yes, today's the 19th, but the reading was for yesterday. :p Sorry about that, I was pretty out of it for the day.
Anyhow, on with things!
You know, this makes me wonder... why the HELL would anyone voluntarily become a criminal in Astro City, especially or the world in general at this point in time? I mean, if they're common mooks, and not supervillains, at least.
Also... clowns? *shudder* Obviously that should be a villain's get-up, not a hero's!
I'm guessing that from what "Eyes" is saying, this is a sort of Legacy thing, with this being the new Jack-in-the-Box. But of course we don't go into that, since the focus isn't on that for this story.
Other than that, this is a pretty straightforward "paranoia will wreck things for you if you let it" story, although it does at least end slightly differently from most - the guy doesn't profit from his information, but he DOES get out and start again somewhere fresh. One can hope he decides to turn his life around? Although I kinda doubt it.
