Times Squares 25th Anniversary
We went. There were about 4 square at the A2/C2 dance, and maybe 10 for MS/+. Many new dancers came from Philly. A very good turnout. Nick and Betsy called. Emad made a fabulous dinner for everyone. Ken Braidi (one of the honorees) brought tons of old photos. Sad to see the list of deceased members and we all had to strain our brains to come up with the names of some members who have stopped dancing.
There was also a small history written up on posters. It spoke about how level snobbery came about 4 months into things when the advanced dancers knew how to "allemande left and right and left grand". Emad was going to honor about 8 long term members (including Gil who left early). Paulene ended up calling another 6 up front, and there were letters in the back from Ron Masker and Skip who couldn't be present. The Rhea Sisters (Gonna, Pizza and Dia) even made an appearance.
