Friday night we went to Robert & David’s for dinner with Jane. He made salmon with yucca and broccoli. I brought chocolate amoretto bars that seemed to take all morning to make. Jane spent the night and we drove to Lenox early Saturday morning.
I was calling with
rfrench and Richard Tuck, and for various reasons, this was one of the least attended dances. We had one person over four squares. I think that everyone there was having a good time though and that the dance came across pretty positively.
We spent quite a bit of time with and had a few meals with the CA contingent of
wooddragon, Rob, Richard, Jane & Bill. Places included Cork & Hearth, Once Upon A Table & Betty’s Pizza.
canseefour and Barry joined us for the first, and Sue for the second. We had lunch other days with Keith and
brosen and David. There’s not too much to do except dance and eat.
nosrednayduj organizes the dance but ended up missing 3/5 due to Ken being in the hospital. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
I had a bit of a scare when we returned from dinner one night to find my hotel door ajar. We were on the first floor in a back corner, but Saturday seemed to have lots of people passing it. I specifically went back in to close the curtains so my laptop would not be visible. While my stomach twisted, I went inside and luckily did not find anything missing. It could’ve been very bad for me, as my bag (containing my life) was also there.
I noted that the hotel door, while closed could still be pushed open unless you made certain it clicked completely shut. I have to assume that it was never completely latched and that the wind opened it. I was very lucky. I will be extremely careful in the future and make sure I body slam the door upon leaving.
We got home Monday evening and threw some hot dogs on the grill for dinner.
