A Visit From The Sheriff's Office
The doorbell rang yesterday afternoon, and a handsome man in a police uniform stood holding some papers. He asked for Patrick. I told him that he was at work.
My mind immediately went to all kinds of bad things. Who is suing him? What shady deal is he a part of that I have no knowledge of? Was there an accident? Is he wanted for something?
It was only to deliver a summons for Grand Jury. I said "They are using you guys to deliver jury duty notices now?". He replied that since it's GRAND jury, it has more importance.
Okay, but my it sent my heart a-flutter.
