After roughly 14 years

I'm back to fully playing/running Battletech games. When Alana and Michi showed interest in trying out Battletech, I decided to get back into the game that truly, to me, started my interest in gaming. If you all didn't already know, Battletech is really personal to me as it was a game that my friends and I congregated around in high school (aside from our typical rough housing games such as full contact football, shooting each other in the dry river bed near our house with BB guns, hunting each other in the pitch black desert with laser tag, etc.).

The first order of business was to drop 100 bucks on 3 Battletech Readouts. 3050, 3055 and 3067. Due to monetary constraints (read: me being a cheapass), I skipped a few books in between '55 and '67. I might pick those up later, but not right now.

Next on the to-get list, is Heroscape, so I can use their hex tiles to create a 3D maps. I'll be picking one up from Target later today, and Alana's looking at her work to see how much they sell them for. If it's cheap enough, she'll probably pick one up as well, so we have more tiles to work with.

Of course, me being me, the campaign will not be a typical Battletech campaign. While fun, they're too "mundane" for our group. I'm planning some real twists for the girls (and anyone else who joins us). My hope is for us to play at least once a weekend, but that might be a bit too ambitious, we'll see.

If anyone is interested in joining, let me know. Rey, if you read this and want in, give either me, Michi or Alana a heads up. I'm already trying to convince J and S to join, but they've yet to turn in their characters to me.

As it stands, the girls are both lesbian (lovers) mechwarriors of Clan Wolf, who have defected to look for their path outside of the clan. They've rescued themselves an aging Inner Sphere technician who was taken as a bondsman after his unit was captured. Did I mention their technician is a drunk? As in, the only time he's ever been sober was when he was born? He's also their only aerospace pilot, capable of flying their "liberated" dropship. Ever seen mechs hitchhike? No? After a flight with this guy, the girls might get a chance to see/do just that.

Overall, I'm pretty excited to get back into the game. It's been so long, and I really do love the game and the universe. It's pretty damned dear to me as it holds a lot of memories for me.
