So Our Parking Space at Best Buy was Basically On Fire Today

Here's how I remember this happening.

Miriam and I were parked outisde the Best Buy waiting for a curbside pickup order. The employee knocked on my window and startled me. I rolled the window down and he apologized for startling me, then said something like "For Miriam? Oh shit!"

I confirmed it was for Miriam while she was getting her ID out. He backed up a bit from the window and said something about "going back" maybe? I thought he'd forgotten the item and had to go back to the store. He then came back to the window and handed me the thing, and said "Oh shit!" again. I asked what the problem was, but he was leaving and going back to the store.

I looked out the window and saw...little things on fire on the ground? Did someone just dump an ashtray? I looked up. The parking lot light *directly* above our car was on fire. It was actively burning and dropping bits of burning debris on the ground.

"Oh shit!" I said and tried to express to Miriam what was going on. She sensibly suggested we vacate that spot, so I found one across the aisle while she tried to call the store. She wasn't able to get through and I considered calling 911 once we were stopped, but it looked like the employee was standing outside the store on his cell phone and shortly I began to hear a fire engine in the distance.

I recorded a short video, attached, of the fire and falling sparky things. We had been parked in front of that sign with the big No. 1 on it.

Look. I don't know who I need to talk to. But I have had ENOUGH GOD-DAMNED FIRE lately. Ok? No more. Seriously. Done now.

Video in first comment because I still haven't figured out how to use the LJ post editor.
