I don't know what this is, but it made me giggle.
Also if you remember me pining for the fjords some Smart!Jared fic, you will know how gleeful
this thread makes me. Brains are sexy.
YAYE! Daddy managed to fix my dishwasher long-distance!! \o/ My daddy is magic, yo! Apparently they sometimes come unplugged when you're shoving dishes around in the cabinet where the plug is. Who knew?
Then Gretchen came to visit and I dragged her all over creation Long Beach.
Ended up heading out to Rancho Palos Verde Saturday since the whales are supposed to be migrating from December through April, but they seemed to be having a day of rest because only one was spotted the whole day and not by us. But it was still the most gorgeous day ever for a trip down to the ocean:
Looking down the cliff-- you can't tell, but we could see some kelp inside the waves (though it may have been seaweed) and on the surface of the ocean.
I kinda love the way the wave is crashing on the point in this one-- I miss the sound of waves.
A little closer to the lighthouse. Santa Catalina Island in the background.
People looking for whales.
Sorry, I didn't want to crop this one too much because it makes the ocean seem so endless. Those are jet skis with kelp on the water's surface in the foreground.
Looking the other way up the coast towards Hermosa and Redondo Beach.
These ravens were soaring on the wind currents up the cliffs and gliding right over my head:
We got there just before sunset:
There was a wedding party getting set up for a sunset wedding:
We also caught up on some movies and TV: Hildago (more horse!) and The Last Samurai (not as bad as I expected.) And then Sunday, we went to the movies!
Jensen in 3D was a BLAST. Some of the effects made us giggle and some made us jump, and I thought for sure the sheriff did it but I was wrong. The naked blonde in the heels pretty much IN A CAGE was my favorite. I was a little sad when she bit it. And for the first thing I've ever seen 3D, I'd call it a win. (Neko, is Pittsburgh really that woodsy?) The gore was nowhere near Saw levels and it was overdone enough that it wasn't that squicky (though that jaw was pretty EWWWW!) And having seen that, I'm looking forward to F13th even more! \o/ Maybe I can catch a midnight show after work Thursday night...
Hi, Jared's arm. I want to lick you.
Also I have registration for both Vancouver and Wincon! Off to make plane reservations and then try to catch up on my flist.
