Kiss ass lesson

I had such a kick-ass lesson. Actually scratch that, it was just a kick-ass day.

I went down at 1pm to the barn, brought Arion up. Groomed him. His cold is getting way better. I just realized what a bit boy he's going to be. His cannon bones are the exact same size as Storm, so he should finish at about 17hh...can't believe he's almost 1 year old already *sniffles*

Anyways, Dagmar decided to ride Storm again this week because she wasn't happy with last ride. She got on him and he was fabulous, unlike last time. He's much more willing to pick up a countercanter now and he's putting more and more weight on his hind legs and coming into the bit fully instead of just dropping his head. He's still got a bit of an attitude, she ran him into the wall 3 times and he reared on her, but he's SO much more willing to try then he ever was. I think we'll have to flush out his joints one more time though.

My lesson on Ms Vicki was just awesome. Everyone kept on commenting on how gorgeous she is...and they are right. She came to the stable a really dull bay color, 800lbs, and psychotic. She's still psychotic, but now she just GLEAMS and probably weighs in at about 1100lbs or so. I'm so proud of my girl. If we could just consistently get our left lead canter without switching leads 2 strides in, I'd be psyched. Even so, from where we started from (you couldn't get the bridle on her) I'm quite happy to see her progress.

That's probably all I'm doing this week; too much to do!

Have a great Easter!
