New CAR!!!!!!!!
So, after five years for faithful service, my little blue car is going to be traded tomorrow- I think.
I'm kinda sad about losing it, but really, its for the best. We (my parents and I) recently found out that there is a manufacturing defect with the paint, and that the whole roof, and possibly the rest of the car will have to be repainted within one to two years. Now, to most this may seem to be a minor problem, but my car is a Focus- so it doesn't have much resale value, and its only going to lose value as the years go on. My parents and myself, we aren't going to repaint a focus, it would just be putting a lot of money into a proverbial sinking ship. So my mom is going to get a new car, a Ford Edge most likely, and I will take her Honda Accord. Not a bad situation, really. I'm moving up in the car world- my mom's car is only two years old and has lots of shiny "extras," we bought it new, and its paid off, as was my car (in fact I had learned that all of our cars were paid off).
I'm happy about the new car, but I really am going to miss the blue one. I know that the thing I love most about this car is the paint color and so really, I know in a few months I'll be right as rain and happily settled into the Honda, but right now its hard to say goodbye to an old friend.
I won't regret trading the Focus, but I will miss it- that's the way I described it to my parents when they asked how I felt about this whole thing.
