New law, secondhand children's items

Jan 07, 2009 23:41

So, on February 10th a new law goes into effect that will further flush our economy down the drains. What am I speaking of you ask? Why, its the law requiring testing of ALL items that are sold to be used on/by/for children under 12 for lead contaminants. jhijsfijaijs Yesplease, lets just shoot ourselves in the foot- the secondhand stores are going to go out of business, parents won't be able to buy great used items at cheap prices, and the cost of new items is going to skyrocket!!! This law says that everything new or used must be tested, or its illegal to sell, which is ridiculous! I am all for keeping our children safe, but this just isn't a viable option, think of something else!

On a much smaller personal level, Goodbye consignment store job that I will have only been at for a year... T_T Guess I'll just have to join everybody else in watching my job go down the drain, only the government will be the only ones to blame. Guess I seriously better start looking for a new job...

stupid government, goodbye job!
