I just peeled off a "plaster" from my heel where I have a blister from my heels. Plaster. I suppose it makes sense to call a bandaid a plaster, or at least as much sense as "bandaid". I always feel foolish asking for "plasters", like it's some type of joke the English are playing on us to see how far they can string us along. Like it's a new word ( Read more... )

I remember the HSBC ATM vividly. Haha. Circle Line is an absolute nightmare. Have you run across the flaws in the English transportation system yet? I once got trapped underground on Circle for 45 minutes. Made me late for a field trip. I really like the Jubilee line. Generally had the nicest trains. The waffles outside Baker are amazing. The chocolate ones in particular. I had them frequently.

I also suggest buying scarves from the vendor right near the weird little gift shops and Sherlock Holmes shop. They're usually around 3 pound, and they make a delightful and warm souvenir. You can get them all over Europe though. I got the same thing in Italy, and saw them in Spain.

Wear something fun to the gay clubs. We used to run out to H&M and check out the sale racks. For under 15 pound you can usually get a fun and funky little 1960's style dress that you can wear over and over again. The 60's never seem to go out of style in London. Neither to black tights and Burberry scarves. But yes. If you don't want to shop, just wear something fun.

Miss you! Enjoy the various places I mentioned. They really are incredible. :)

Shopping is so much fun here, but so expensive. I've been to Oxford Street way too many times.

The Circle line is ridic. I like Jubilee and Bakerloo in good part because of their names.

Is there anything you want me to bring you back from England that you can't get in the States?
