RIghts

We need to remember to separate Church and State. The Constitution should always trump the Bible in matters of Law. This is a democracy, not a theocracy, however, 'marriage' is a religious institution. I personally don't care about the semantics, call it what you will but make it exactly the same. Excuse the rather odd analogy, but I don't care if the underwear I'm wearing was hand sewn by the designer himself, or a completely indistinguishable knockoff, as long as it covers my ass. Not giving gays the same rights is basically the same as saying they're not allowed to wear underwear, and forcing them to freeball, thereby leaving things important to them exposed to more potentially adverse conditions. Even though they have some basic protection afforded them by pants, it's not the same. Not everyone chooses to wear underwear but we all certainly have the right. If you find the analogy a bit ridiculous, bear in mind it's no less ridiculous than some of the arguments I've heard as to why they should be denied equal rights.
