All those stoic faces. I don't think I could have held it together like they did.

Jesus, all this for one police officer? Must've been a hell of a cop. Or maybe just a hell of a person. Did they get whoever shot him?

I couldn't even begin to capture the turnout in its entirety. There were literally THOUSANDS of men and women of the Law Enforcement community who came from all over the East Coast and Canada to say goodbye. Tom WAS a hell of a cop; with only 5 years on the job at most, he had already gotten over a half dozen citations, mostly for disarming suspects w/o firing a shot himself. He was known for his ballbreaking AND at the same time, was noted for giving out his personal cell phone # to victims--AND also to criminals if they sought help to straighten their lives out. Hell, at least a third of the anecdotes in Chief Pylman's eulogy came from people Tom arrested *ROFL*

The suspect is still at large although a "person of interest", the driver of the car which was stopped, is being held on crack possession and other charges. Hopefully they'll find the killer soon.

Such a shame maya4lx12chen April 22 2007, 06:57:45 UTC
It is truly a loss when someone who serves in this way gets their life cut short... by the very ones they commit to protect.
Great photography as always
