Gouged out
Eyes.

Bloodshot eyes. Accusing.

Eyes.

They always see him. He can’t escape them.

Eyes.

The eyes of his God, Equus whom he betrayed, but it doesn’t let him go.

Eyes.

They maul his heart. They drive him crazy.

Eyes.

He hates them but he loves them.

Eyes.

He can’t escape them.

„Please! Take me back!” he cries to the horse, but it keeps looking at him accusingly. The boy’s face deforms in craziness and he takes a hoof knife in hand. „Then I kill your
eyes!” he shouts, then he gouges out the horse’s eyes with the knife.

Eyes.

They are dead.

Eyes.

They gush as bloody foam.

Eyes.

They arise glowing pain in both the horse and the boy.

Eyes.

They were gouged out. Forever.
