Finally switched from Wells Fargo to a local credit union. As of tomorrow, Wells Fargo will start charging a monthly fee of 7 dollars for those that have a checking account (now referred to as a personal account) and don't meet certain requirements. I found out about that after reading an online message on the bank's website. Of course, they didn't specifically say anything about a monthly fee in my inbox, which I hardly go to. They just linked to a list of important changes, because flat out telling you would be too difficult. I'm not sure how much money I've already given them in monthly fees because I had to almost empty out my savings because of the car (thanks car!), which still needs work. Tired of hidden monthly fees. And in typical big bank fashion, when I tried to close my account they came at me like a desperate salesman. Oh, you can simply waver the fee if you do this... No thanks.
