I wrote a very short story at work on wednesday. here it is.
A midday city sky. Walking alonge, the clouds began to fall liquescently. They seemed very sad about it, so I joined them. i began to fall liquescanetly too. The clouds and myself, turning ourselves to water drops.
A girl walked to me, safely shielded from the falling clouds, and asked why i was crying.
"I don't want to be alone."
She said she'd walk with me. I don't think she understood, and I told her so. i told her I didn't think she understood.
"What's your name?"
She didn't understand. I told her she didn't get it.
"Your parents must have been twisted to name you that."
Clever girl under and umbrella. The clouds and I falling had created a river between the girl, safely shielded from the clouds and I, and myself. She couldn't see it and i couldn't cross it.
We passed a hotdog vendor and she asked if I was hungry. From across the river, I told her she didn't get it.
"I already know your name."
She traded an umbrella for a hotdog, but the vendor refused her relish. Clever girl, shielded from the couds and I, she pulled some from her pocket. From across the river, I thought i saw her sneer. I asked if she was laughing.
"Do you like the movies? It's such a pretty day."
She didn't get it. The clouds stopped falling and so did I. The river stood up and walked away.
"I don't want to be alone."
She walked away eating her hotdog. Clever girl, shielded from the clouds and I. She didn't get it.
