Break-in
Last night I feel asleep on the couch instead of going to my bedroom. Around 5 am I woke up to some noise. I thought it was the guy that lives below me but it seemed really close. My couch was right up against the balcony door and I heard a metal on metal sound. I sat up and looked through a gap in my blinds and someone was standing right there. I instantly punched the glass with my fist and ran to get my gun. When I came back out I flipped the light for the balcony and went out. The person was missing.
I called the cops and they thought maybe I saw something that wasn't there until one of them saw foot prints and finger prints on the ledge. They beat on the door of the neighbor below me for 5 minutes with no answer. Then I hear "there is movement inside" from the second floor balcony. The the cops were ordering someone to unlock the balcony door and the cuffed the guy. That was my neighbor. I guess they didn't think he had anything to do with it since they let him go after 10 minutes.
I think this may be someone who has been in my place like an electrician or cable guy. I don't see any other reason someone with scale up to the third floor when they could hit someone on the first easier. So I'm going to get as much security in place today.
If I would have been in my bedroom I'm sure they would have got in.
