I leave Singapore in a few days. I have met the most brilliant, wonderful bunch of ppl during my stay here. I loved the experience. There were some god awful times, but the good times outweighed it by far.

I think studying abroad is the best thing you can ever do. If I ever decide to do post-grad studies, there is no way in hell i am doing it in Auckland!! NUS is one of the top universitys in the world .. waaay higher on the list than NZ and the educational experience is phenomenal not to mention that job opportunities are so much more global. I was tempted to look into jobs here, but although it's all great .. the reality is that the friends i have made are all leaving (ie. foreign students) and singapore is NOT a country worthy of staying alone in, as the locals aren't exactly the friendliest bunch at first instance. You really need to work hard to get them on your side and even after that, they seem a bit of suspicious of you and distant/bitchy and housing here is a nightmare.

The highlight of my educational experience was my paper on interpol, which was taught by general legal counsel for interpol and the Secretary General of Interpol, in co-ordination with the New York University. It was a fun and interactive course, which hit on topical issues and brought to surface a lot of the tensions between freedom and security. I know I sound like a boring nerd right now, but the lecturers were great and we were the first class in the world to be taught the course which they are taking back home to NYU for next year. Not to mention we were all featured on the Interpol website.

I have bought so many shoes, I could open up a store. This place is a shoppers heaven and a traveller's dreeeeaaam. So much so that I had to send an entire shipment back home early, of 20 kilos so that my luggage wouldn't be overweight. And cause I only want to have one little bag with me when I leave Singapore. I am definitely coming back once i am a lawyer and earning the dosh.

I won't be back home in NZ till much later though, prob in January sometime as I am off on global adventures after Singapore is over and done with!

And that is all.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
