[Once again, Rex's communicator is having issues. You can hear the sound of kissing and the accompanying happy moans and whatnot that tend to go along with kissing. Then, there's a pause, a disconcerted grunt and Iago saying:]

It's... The Death Toll? [Perry doesn't know about Armand, as far as he knows, so it's safe to allude, right? He won't figure out the extent of things.] I think I'm experiencing my worst one yet.

No. [He laughs hollowly, just to keep from turning into a mess again.] I'd take that over this, to be honest.

[He's still on the edge, so his voice sounds lost, more frightened than he'd ever admit.] A cure. No. I just-- if-- [He doesn't know where he's going.] Think you could send me some music? Metal helps you feel less... angry, right? [Because man he needs something to temper his urge to eat people.]

[Hey, something he can totally do, awesome. That lost tone in Rex's voice is distressing.] Yeah. Yeah, it helps. I can do that. I can bring you my iPod or something?

[Relief! It may not be much, but at least it's a small thing that's not completely out of his control.]

Yeah. That'd help, I think. I can... bring it back when this has passed.

Private - Spam/assume?

Sure, okay. Where are you?

My room. [Which Perry probably knows the number of thanks to mirrorverse.] Level 1, room [INSERT]. Give me... a couple hours.

SPAM, obviously!

[So Perry waits, pushing the awkwardness of this aside. He's kind of antsy, so he fiddles with the music he's got loaded on the iPod, making a creatively titled playlist called 'Heavy Shit'. He takes it when he goes up to the dining hall for some food and stops at Rex's room on his way back down. He knocks.]

Hey, it's me.

[By this point, Rex has eaten and calmed down considerably. He's cleaned himself up so that there aren't any more traces of blood on his face, although the paleness of his skin and the brightness of his eyes are indications that something's wrong. Oh, and the fangs, but he's going to be very careful about letting anyone see them. He hears Perry's heart before the other man knocks, and moves to open the door.]

Hey. [A closed-mouth half-smile.] Thanks for bringing it by.

[Rex doesn't look good. Perry notices, a hint of a frown on his face. He's going to try to just... keep it as normal as any conversation between them is because drawing attention to whatever Rex is dealing with is probably not cool.]

Don't worry about it. It's cool. [He flicks through some of the music on the iPod and then holds it out.] I-- There's a playlist of some heavier stuff.

[Rex is just trying to play it cool, act like he hasn't just sprouted fangs thanks to this Death Toll nightmare. He takes the iPod and nods.] Heavy stuff... I think some headbanging will be a good distraction from the death toll. [Stupid attempt at lightening the mood. He clears his throat awkwardly.] Do you want to borrow something in return? I've got a collection of horror and sci-fi that I really don't want to watch right now.
