[Rex is fiddling with some snake skin in his hands. Because one of his snakes was preparing to shed a few posts ago. YAY CONTINUITY.]
Have all of you shed your ridiculous new personas now? I'm not certain what the purpose of that particular flood was, except perhaps to give the rest of us a headache.
Anyway. I have a question for the rest of you. [Pause. Wait.] Two, actually. Both regarding "death" on the Barge. [He fiddles with the snake skin some more.] Has anybody's period between death and revival ever been prolonged significantly? Not over hours, but days. Have any stages of decomposition ever been observed?
And speaking of observations... [He tosses the snake skin into the trash bin by his desk and leans forward a little, canting his head juuuust slightly, curiously.] Has anybody ever witnessed that moment of revival? When the wounds repair themselves and life is suddenly breathed back into the body. Or is it another one of those... Barge mysteries that only happen when the back is turned?
Call me morbid if you want. I just think it's kind of... strange, how mundane and expected resurrection is here. I'd like to understand it better.
[Filtered to Friends, BUT AWAY FROM IAGO AND WICHITA]
[SO MUCH FORCED CASUALNESS. He's trying to sound ~light and playful~ right now.]
One word to describe your life.
I'll begin. Trainwreck. Technically two words, but I'm allowed to cheat. It's my game.
[Private to Iago]
I want to talk.
[Pause.]
Actually, I want mutual talking. In person.
[Private to Wichita, forward dated to ~tomorrow~]
I have a sneaking suspicion the Admiral purposefully steered us into a flood just to welcome you back.
