Player Information Name: Lissa Age: old enough to know better. :| LiveJournal/E-Mail/AIM: moontyger/lissatyger [at] gmail [dot] com, LissaMoontyger
Character Application Name: John Constantine Series: Hellblazer (also appeared in Swamp Thing and Books of Magic) Age: late-30s - early 40s Gender: male
Canon: wikipedia Pulled In: Right after he gets his cancer cured Cut Down: I'm not entirely sure that most of this doesn't happen due to merely being here. He's a magician, but a lot of his power comes from summonings and otherworldly contacts and he's just lost all that. He has a general danger sense and can do some basic divining. He can usually recognize even subtle uses of magic, but that doesn't mean he knows how it's done, who's done it, or how to undo it.
Personality: John Constantine's usual manner is that of a bitter, pessimistic jerk. He's had a hard life and doesn't really expect that to change; any time he's happy, he knows it won't last. He has a soft spot for children, though, and will go to the ends of the earth to help a friend. He might be a happier person more prone to making friends if they didn't so often die anyway.
Those rare souls he trusts see a different side of Constantine: a damaged and often confused man who needs people around him. John has a deep-seated need for both affection and acceptance, but he rarely trust anyone enough to let them see it or do either. He's both used to betrayal and accustomed to being bad luck at the very least for those associated with him, so he has thick walls of cynicism and distrust to protect him and he's far more likely to use someone than to get attached. But some people manage to find their way past those walls anyway, though he pities them as much as he loves them.
Compartment: Platform 3, train 6, compartment 6
Sample Journal Post: Christ, what now? Seems like just as a bloke's just got everything sorted out, a new lease on life you might say, and next thing you know, here he is in a rundown place like this. Isn't that always the way?
Sample RP Post: John coughed and lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply even as he wrinkled his nose, the smell of burning tobacco merely complementing the stench of the city. At least that was something familiar. As was walking alone, the eternal observer. Even the feeling of being watched, perhaps followed, wasn't that strange. Let them watch; he wasn't doing much. Rarely did much anyway. Occasional spot of saving the world or whatever, but even then he was mostly along for the ride, floundering about and making new messes even as he cleaned up the old.
He looked back over his shoulder, offered a grin that meant nothing, a friendly gesture with nothing behind it. "Hey, mate. If you're going to hang around like that, might as well grab a friendly pint or something." Might get a free drink out of it; you never knew.
