Note I: Of the recent event...[Voice]

Jun 30, 2010 23:11

So I've been working on some experiments the past week, and when I get done, I find out that over the last week, everyone's been randomly singing?! What the hell is going on here? Sometimes, I think that everyone here just has lost it.

...Although I kinda wonder if some people even "had it" it the first place.

ic, event, am i the only sane one?, lolwut

Oh, experimenting? On what pray tell?

Even since before I got here, I've been working on formulas with this necklace to see if I can discover the Rizomata Formula. I'm sure that if I could find it, it could lead to both powering my necklace up and to better utilization of fonons by fontech. If fontech in general could be more powerful with less effort...

[Trails off, thinking of the possibilities.]

Oh good, you are the person to ask then~

What are fonons? Are they similar to mana?

Fonons...I don't think anywhere else would really have them, but back in Auldrant, the basic elemental components of everything were fonons. Seven are known--darkness, earth, wind, water, fire, light, and the seventh...it's pretty much sound. So I guess it's kinda like mana, if mana is what all of the make-believe books talked about. Without fonons, life might cease on Auldrant. At least, in theory.

Elemental components. This is a fascinating theory to apply to my own world. You say these are proven and common?

Though, in my world, mana is quite real.

If they weren't, I wouldn't be a fonist. Although fonons don't exactly exist here, I still am able to do the same practices with whatever energy source is here. That doesn't mean they don't exist. We fonists use the fonons in ways that we gather the ones of certain types together and unleash them in a fonic arte. I am sure they exist, especially after years of studying them.

In Auldrant, mana was only a part of fairy tales. If we're in another dimension and world right now from our original ones, then I wouldn't doubt it would be real elsewhere.

Ah, your practice as a fonist is similar to the magic we use. Though, since your fonons seem a bit more definite in their elemental alignment than mana, what happens after they are used? Are they dispersed or do they collect in an area?

From my understanding, they are gathered in the fonic arte, and then unleashed. After that, they disperse, just like if a fonist stopped a fonic arte midcast.

((OoC: At least as far as I know... @@ Been too long since I touched the game...))

Ah, I would be very interested in a demonstration. Are you limited to one type of fonon accumlation per fonic arte, or can you use two or more?

((OOC: <3 It's fine, thank you for putting up with him so far.))

Typically, you can only do one. Most people, anyway. However, I've been experimenting with formulas and with the ones in my necklace and have found out combination that can work with more than one type of fonon. I am not sure if I'm the first, but it's almost unheard of, at least. I wouldn't say to try combining different fonons, and I certainly would not try three.

((OoC: Haha, he's no trouble! x3 I'm just hoping I'm not saying everythign wrong...that would be bad, eheheh...))

Oh, you sound like quite a skilled pioneer. We'll have to sit down and compare our notes between mana and fonons, of course the matter of actually getting to all my notes...

Hmm...yeah, that might be interesting. If mana is anything like fonons...

[A pause.]

Well, yeah. It'll be interesting to see.
