Rolo's background

Alignment/rank: Monacello/Assassin
Also has rank of Assassin in the Antimafia Commission.

When Rolo was very young, almost a toddler and barely able to speak, his parents gave him up to the Antimafia Commission as an experimental subject for the project known as Geass, in exchange for protection from both mafia houses. It was decided that the experiments with Rolo would take a different course than those with Lelouch, so Rolo's Geass works much, much differently from Lelouch's. Instead of giving orders, Rolo's Geass will force a person's senses to misinterpret his location and his actions, making it seem like he can move instantaneously, within a time limit of five seconds. The power only affects the senses of people around him (in a limited range), and he can't stop any physical objects.

He was raised as the perfect assassin, emotionless to the extreme, without any attachment to a family or any care for anyone, not even himself. His mission was the most important thing there was in his life, second to nothing else. He was used as the Antimafia Commission's tool--an expendable soldier who readily followed orders, brought in whenever a mission proved tough for their other assassins.

One day, an employee found a small piece of data left behind when the young Lelouch had made his escape. The AMC immediately started looking for him, and finally located the man in Monacello. They couldn't make a move so deep in Monacello territory, though, so they had Rolo infiltrate Monacello to get as close to him as possible, pretending to be Lelouch's long-lost cousin. He grew to like Lelouch, but was eventually discovered as an AMC assassin.

Lelouch managed to convince Rolo not to kill him. Instead, he convinced Rolo that he really did care for him as family. This helped Lelouch get Rolo to join him in his aspirations to overtake Monacello. To the rest of the house, Rolo is just Lelouch's younger brother, and a great hitman. Some suspect him of something, but no one has enough proof (or balls) to act on it.

Rolo's change of heart happened only recently. He hasn't reported to the AMC for a long time, and they are completely unaware of his change of thinking. He is very happy to be Lelouch's younger brother, and doesn't even really mind that he's being used because of that.
